I made a boot CD from Tigers MFS Tools 2.0. This may be a stupid question but what is the file system type I use to mount the various partitions. In particular I have concerns for the hdX4, hdX7 & hdX9 partitions. Thanks in advance....

When I issue the command:

mount /dev/hdb4 /mnt4

I get an error asking to enter file system type when using mount command. This error does not happen when I use the Bootable Floppy.

I'd say it's either the boot CD or you have more than one CD-ROM drive attached to your IDE bus. If you only have a single CD drive then I'd recommend downloading the non-Joliet version of MFS Tools 2.0. I've found that the nJ version works when errors like this occur with the regular version.

Thank captain!! I do have more than one CDROM and several Hard Drives. I will check the bootup message the next time I try it and verify my TiVo drive is the hdb device.
