Series 1 Tivo vs. Series 2 Tivo

Hi there:

I just sold a broken T60 on Ebay. I am in the market now for another DirecTivo unit. I know the series 1 Tivos can be hacked. I have no knowledge of the Series 2.

Can the Series 2 be hacked as well as the series 1??? Does the Series 2 offer anything more than the Series 1?? I guess I am looking for the basic pros and cons of hacking the Series 2 as apposed to the Series 1.

check the sticky threads for info on the various hacks available for the s2. that is the major difference is hackability. other than that, usb ethernet vs. turbonet is the other main one.

Ok, I'll check out the threads. Do you have a Manufacturer preference to which of the Series 2's are better built?? ie. easier to work on, does one have better airflow over the drives than another etc...

Are the display screens nicer on one unit as compared to another?? (I have been a fan of the Sony display screens in the past)

Both available models are clones I believe:
HDVR2 = DSR7000
The HDVR2 is kinda dark grayish, while the dsr7000 is silver. I believe those are all the diffrences ..... lots of choice :D
