Incomplete extractions using TyTool

I'm using TyTool 7r6 to extract from my TiVo (T-60, 80GB, 3.1). When I work through the steps, I'm getting files that are only half the length of the show. I can play them back on the TiVo and all of the show is there.

I use the TyStream mode to bring the files across. When I make the key files, I do get a few PES Packet and audio header error messages, but TyTool chugs on through it to the end. Then when I edit them, only about half the show is present. For example: I recorded an hour-long show last night. Fired up TyTool, hit refresh, and it shows up in Now Playing as 816MB. I click the Get button, and after a while have a shiny new 816MB ty file on my machine. Make key file, and when I feed it to the editor, the file ends 31 min into the show.

I'm probably missing something obvious, and appreciate any help that folks can offer...

I had one file that behaved like this, but I deleted it, it was only a test, so I can no longer try it with newer versions (dumb).

I guess your ty contain some bad information so TyTool can't handle it. If you can chop the bad part to make it smaller, then when jdiner respond in this thread he may contact you asking for the file.

Did you get any type of error while creating your .KEY file? Does the key file seem complete? I think for that size .TY it should be around 40-50MB. Not sure though, just a guess cause some of my 600MB .TYs result in a 43MB or so key file.

Sorry for the long previous post, but I wanted to be complete.

I'm starting to think that this is something related to the download itself (i.e. either NowShowing.tcl or tserver) rather than the processing on my pc. I've downloaded it a couple of times, and the glitch in the .key file process moves around to different packets in the file. I was also able to re-download an incomplete show and get all of it the second time. And, not every file I downloaded in that batch is affected, either.

So at this point, it's looking like the most annoying kind of problem, one that's both random and malicious.
