I brought this 1 generation Tivo almost a year ago from ebay.com. The seller who sold me this unit said that it came with lifetime sub, no need to use the phone line and other usual BS. He also said that it was not hacked in and that the unit is legal. Back then I was newbie to Tivo thingys so I didn't know anything about hacking the Tivo. I was so pissed off when I found out that it was a hacked unit because I'm not be able to get any local channels and that the unit was making daily phone calls ( succeeded ) without a phone line plugged in!!
Anyways, back to the point, I am selling it because I know nothing about hacking into the Tivo with the computer to get the local channels back or to upgrade the software and to use some money to buy a real legal Directv Tivo. The unit comes with everything ( no access card ) but no factory box. The unit is in great shape. Features include: 35 hours of all digital recording, Dolby Digital 5.1 output, dual tuners allow you to watch one program live while recording another simultaneously, high speed search up to 60X, pause live TV, and digital audio output.
