What is this backup file and should I use it instead of hdvr2-31U5.mfs?

It is a u5 imaged hacked then backed up with the incorrect .mfs extension.
Use it instead of hdvr2-31U5.mfs because you don't know where to find hdvr2-31U5.mfs?

Well I have both and I am trying to get bash on my hdvr2 right now.
Just trying to follow the step by step instructions, I guess Ill use the original non-hacked version.

Okay, I got the U5 image installed on to a new drive but I can get bash. My serial cable worked as I checked it by shorting the the first 2 leads of the 8mm plugs. It echoed. All my syntax seems is 100% like ingineer's instructions. only thing different is this is a new hdvr2. Anyone know if there has been any hardware updates that would make this hack impossible? Anyhelp would be greatly welcomed.
