sure you have the jumpers set properly on the hard drive(s)?

saw this problem when i was trying to fix a "welcome. powering up" error. ran into this and it was a wrong jumper setting. on western digital drives, if you have two connected, make sure you have the master drive's juper set for"master w/slave" then the other drive jumper set to "slave"....should fix ya up. if only one drive connected, then no jumper...indicating master/single drive.

What are your symptoms? Are you stuck on the "Welcome. Powering up.." screen or what? Did you recently modify your rc.sysinit file by transferring it to your PC for editing? If so, you probably forgot to make it executable when you transferred it back to your Tivo.
