Upload video from one SA S1 TiVo to another.

Hi all,

I have searched for this answer with no results... yet. I have two TurboNET hacked SA TiVos. (Series 1)

I want to extract a ty file on TiVo A and upload it to TiVo B so it will show up in the now playing on TiVo B.

Has anyone tried this yet? Is it possible? Thanks...

The correct phrase to search for is "insertion". There have been several different methods to do this over the last year and a half, but the current method is with mfs-ftp by RC3105. You can extract to your PC and insert into another TiVo, or go TiVo to TiVo. There is a huge thread on this in this forum with all of the info you need there. Good luck, it works very well.

Another note, read all of the threads first before you bother to try a method, paying attention to the post dates. Some of these threads are loaded with great info, but have been superceeded by new methods. So, what could happen is you could be wasting a lot of time, and have to start over when you get to the part where everyone else moved onto something else. Haha. Sometimes the folks here don't realize that weeding through all of the posted info can be very frustrating, as much does not pertain to things the way they are now, and it seems so disjointed.

For extraction with insertion, look at the mfs-ftp (sometimes called mfs_ftp) threads.

For extraction only, there is mfs-ftp, TyTools (of which there are many threads... look for the latest with thread names that make no sense until after you read it, hehe), and TyStudio. Sticky threads with these methods mentioned in them are the best bet.
