Been fixing tivos for over a year and a half now, so not too much of a newbie. I just read, read, read, and find my answers. But today, I am at my wits end. Been searching, and just running around in circles
I messed up my tivo. i had been running v2.5.2 with no problems. Then I got a bug up my butt and applied the noppv feature of xplusz. thinking it would wipe my pay per views off my card. Since I am running a subcribed Hu that wrecked it for me.
Damned rookie mistake.
Anyhow, I tried to reapply the 2.5.2 upgrade, it wouldn't take, so I applied the 3.1.1 upgade planning to revert to 2.5.2 so my Hu will work.
That doesn't work, the upgrade cd won't let me downgrade. (imagine that)
I am trying to apply blissterpopper, but can't figure out how.
The instructions say send over to tivo in your favorite way, I can't figure out how to do that.
It seems from reading that all i really need to do it move over a new 299.tcl file
I was hoping I could get a walk through on how to do that.

Here is my setup.
tivo with a wd 80 and 120 gig drives for 185 hrs.
80 gig is tivo A
it is mounted into computer as hdc
I have all 3 blissterpopper files extracted to c
I also have copy299.tcl in the c drive as well

If all I need to do is put copy299 in tivo, then run it, can someone tell me how to do that
or maybe I need to get blissterpopper running, how do I get it over there?
I boot to linux using either my Original 25xtreme disc, or the xupgrade disk if that matters.

i certainly appreciate the help, and will sing praises to the hero who helps me. If I have to start over and lose 185 hours of programming my woman will castrate me.

Brian

Use a serial cable, and transfer the copy299.tcl program to the root directory of the tivo via the bash prompt using TeraTerm and zmodem.

Then chmod +x /copy299.tcl

then run it.

the problem is I do knot know what to type to transfer it to the root directory via bash.
I had also assumed (wrongly?) that since I had the drive in my PC that I could do it easier that way.

Seems to me that I lost bash when I upgraded. I'll build it again and see if bash works.

Set your terminal to 115200 not 9600.

Also, a little reading would help you.

I appreciate the responses, and will try the new setting
Maybe I just suck at finding what I am looking for, but believe me, I do read.
I have been for hours....

Thanks again
