I have a gxcebot with 25xtreme on it.
I am interested in upgrading this one to 2.5.2 like my other one.
what I would like to know is if there is a way to change my baud rate to 115200 so I can send over the files.
i have bash at 9600, but it looks as though it will take forever to send it at that speed. I really don't want to tear it apart.
I thought I had read once where there was a command I could type in on bash to make the Tive receive at the higher rate, but I can no longer find it.
A nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

wouldn't you know it, as soon as I asked here, I figured out a better search, and found my answer
here it is in case anyone comes across this post while looking for the answer themselves
Making TeraTerm Faster
Speed up serial access to your DTiVo
File(s) Needed: n/a
At Bash prompt enter:
stty 115200
On the TeraTerm menu, click Setup, then Serial Port. Change the Baud rate to 115200 and click "OK"
Press Enter and if you get a Bash prompt, it's working and we can make the change permanent. If you don't get a prompt, a reboot will return your DTiVo to the default 9600 Baud Rate
In TeraTerm click Setup, Save Setup and overwrite your teraterm.ini in the directory you installed TeraTerm to. This saves your new Baud Rate in TeraTerm
At Bash prompt enter:
cd /
joe .bashrc
Add the following line (or edit if it exists) below stty sane:
stty 115200
Save and exit Joe (ctrl-k then x) and you're done
Don't forget to hit enter again...
Hope this helps you out.

SZ's 2.5.2 upgrade ups the baud rate to 115200 by default.

it does indeed.
my problem was that I wanted to upgrade TO 2.5.2 via bash, and not spend a whole day downloading the files to the tivo at 2.5.0's default 9600
It worked like a charm

Using the boot CD works for me. The upgrade takes only a few seconds to install from the CD as opposed to over 30 minutes transferring it via serial connection. Even at 115200 baud the CD is still much faster but then I don't mind swapping drives.

I understand, it just happens to be a big pain for me to swap drives the way my pc is set up.
way easier to send it via serial
