The card doesn't affect the DVR section per se. Any further discussion of DTV hacking isn't allowed here, please take those questions to a DTV-hacking site.

Hacking is not the same as stealing.
And to answer your question, most common methods of stealing the DTV signal will not support theft of the DVR service at the same time. If you wish to steal both services at once you will need to teach yourself how to develop your own version of the copyright circumvention device that alters the card operation (which is definitely not discussed at DDB).

The name of the forum is DirecTV Tivo Hacking, NOT DIRECT TV TIVO HACKING, and surely not DirecTV Hacking...
It's intention is to distinguish it from Stand Alone Tivo Hacking.
Would you like to recommend a name that indicates that this forum is dedicated to hacking satellite combination Tivos, and not the service that goes along with them, and definitley not any theft of service.
Would that would make it easier for folks such as yourself to understand?

This misinterpretation of the forum's intentions seems to happen quite frequently. Perhaps a name change or revision might be in order to avoid any further confusion. I think it might be fairly easy just to add a disclaimer in the text just below the forum title to indicate that the forum only discusses the Tivo side of the box and that no DTV hacking talk is allowed. Perhaps if this was highlighted in bold or posted in red type the DTV hackers would get the message.

The forum title is misleading as it conjures the image of Free TV in a felon's mind. It should be changed to something that does not contain the ambiguous term "DirecTV" so that users realize that "DTV" only refers to the unit's tuners. Suggestions:
DTiVo Hacking
DirecTiVo Hacking
(with description: Discussion of hacking DirecTV/TiVo combo boxes, NOT DSS service theft)
TiVo Combo Box Hacking
DTiVo Underground

What is that supposed to mean? Is there a subliminal message in the first capitalization that says "do not steal"?

It was a reference to the capitalization and incorrect wording used by bovak in his first accusatory post in this thread.

The best name would be :
Satellite/Tivo combo units hacking (DTIVO)
