Successful Menu Extraction????

Been playing around with the menus in /Resource/VideoClip and can extract them fine with many tools the problem is that I can't seem to get them into any usable format. All the spliting and tystream tools don't seem to work, I'm I missing something?

The thing with these is they only have about 5 chunks or so, the currently used tystream parsing algorithms must have at least 10 or so to work with.

Ok I've successfuly gotten a custom background into Tivo, but now have one problem, which is in the Tivo Classic backgrounds there is that shaded center area which makes the menu text easy to read. Now I had assumed this was done by the OSD but it now, at least, seems that this is not the case.

So my question is, does the OSD do this? If so what attribute needs to be adjusted? If not anyone sazy in mpeg editing know how I can easily add this affect?
