I was on 2.5.2, and I got a wild hair up my .... well I decided it was time to go to 3.1. I did the tivolater upgrade to 3.1 (with the -p option) and everything went perfect. Cept it told me my card was no good (HU). So I uploaded BlisterPopper1.1 and ran it. The first time I ran it I uploaded the cpio.gz file as nonbinary so the unzip command failed. so I re-uploaded that file and ran the commands against it manualy. I rebooted and my HU card now works, but heres the things I noticed and i'm not sure they are normal.

1. The menu screen with Tivolution magazine is GONE, no where to be found. in fact the only menus I get are the blue one (dtv) and the orange one (Now playing)

2. It said my reciever made a succesfull call ( not sure how as no phone line in the same room) and it has a scheduled call.

3. on 2.5.2 one of the menu's said i had lifetime subscription, i can't find that menu either.

So did i really screw this up? is everything working as planned?

can i install xplusz? My locals channels apear in the guide and the guide info appears but the bar on the bottom of the screen says they are unavailable. I feel lost. I tried searching as much as I could but couldn't find the answers that I though applied to me. Should i just wipe the whole thing and start again? or is everything cool?

thanks

Ok so i'll let it be and hopefully all will be fine. I also wanted to add that this morning i lost all my even transponders? should i expect those to come back as well? I have both feeds of the dual lnb (round dish) coming directly to my tivo.

BTW lets just say the DTV tier fell off my card. could that be causing my problems?

thanks again

Probably not. The upgrades that you performed should not have eliminated even transponders. Sounds like you have a bigger problem. Maybe even a voltage problem, bad lnb, bad cable or bad tuner.

My wife had a heart attack as she realized all of this was happening. I swear she almost came at me with a knife... (NEVER take away TIVO from your wife)

So I read up on the tuners, and read up some more without posting too many questions:D

So late yesterday I decided it was time for me to retry all of this. I took out my drives, stuck em back in my computer and put 25xtreme back on then. Then I did touch /etc/Subtest. then I ran the subfix.tcl. And finaly I added a slightly ollder version of xplusz that I had downloaded when I originally downloaded 25xtreme.

Much to my surprise EVERYTHING is working perfectly, minus the fact that I lost my wifes season passes (see above). Even the transponders work again. There are so many variants to all this I could not even start to tell you what part of the upgrade to 3.1 caused this if any. However I did want to thank you JJBliss for responding, and pointing me in the right direction.

also since I'm new to Xplusz I had another question that maybe someone could answer. I'm trying to get locals, the manual for xplusz says #60,<localbyte>

I'm in miami and my local byte is 0A so what do I put there to get locals in the 2-99 range?
also i did the #2 to get the tivolution mag, it said succeded but no mag :-(

You guys are awsome

I don't use xplusz, so I can't help with that.

Regarding the mag, you may have to wait up to 3 days.
