View Full Version : load .ty files into dvd2avi, but not fully supported

Did anyone know you can load .ty files into DVD2AVI? I dragged one over for the heck of it, and it loaded it up.

But there's no audio, and there's a few, or a lot depending on your recording, mpeg artifacts and blocks while previewing the video, but you get an idea of what the show looks like.

I guess it's a quick way to see the video type & frame type of your .ty though. Now you can see if your recording was from film or ntsc.

I know about tystudio and stuff. It takes way longer to get a quick view though, cause ya gotta index it, and the larger the .ty, the longer ya wait. DVD2AVI opens it in a split second, and the info you can get from a .ty is neat, like if the frames are NTSC, FILM, interlaced, or progressive. Don't know how accurate it is, but it gives you a general idea what type of video you're dealing with.

Would be neat to have a TY codec or something. Just plug it in, and all your windows apps can now work with TYs. Or it would be neat if dvd2avi could support .tys a bit more. Oh well.
