I just made a serial cable via the soldering instructions in How Tos. I still cant get info from reciever in Tera Term. I soldered the red wire to pin 2, the white to pin 3 and the copper one to pin 5 is that right? I unplugged my reciever, turned it back on with tera term already on, and hit enter twice while it was booting still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can't go by the color coding because it isn't standardized for all serial cables. Check the pin numbers on the serial connector (DB9) and solder the corresponding wires to the appropriate connections on the stereo mini-plug. If you get a magnifying glass you should be able to see the pin numbers on the DB9 connector molded into the plastic insulating material.
