I'm guessing you installed the 2.5.2 upgrade to an existing 2.5Xtreme install, correct? If that's the case you'll save yourself a lot of heartburn by simply reinstalling 2.5Xtreme from scratch and then performing the 2.5.2 upgrade after you've allowed the 2.5Xtreme installation to flash the EEPROM and rebuild the database. If you leave the sat feeds disconnected until after you've installed the 2.5.2 upgrade and set up your xPlusz hacks then the locals should come right in. Otherwise you'll have to wait an hour while you do a Clear Program Data & To Do List. I've done this on at least three DTivos so far and I got locals right away on every one of them.

Captain, what about installing 2.5.2 in its full state? Can I take a T60 that has the base 2.0 software--a new drive installed, for example--and install 2.5.2 in a full version, or do you recommend installing 2.5Xtreme full and then installing sz's 2.5.2 upgrade?

The 2.5.2Xtreme image does not contain any of the additional hacks that are included with Superzap's 2.5.2 upgrade. Unless you're looking for a barebones DTivo I'd recommend going with the 2.5Xtreme installation followed by the 2.5.2 upgrade. I can pretty much guarantee that you'll get your locals using the method I outlined. I have no idea what your locals situation will be if you use the full 2.5.2 image.

Aye, aye, Captain!
BTW, I'm a bit worried about loading on 2.5Xtreme by yanking the drives out and doing them on a PC (computer novice that I am, LOL). If I get too paranoid, is there a way to load 2.5Xtreme via bash? I know it'd take a lot longer, but if that can be done, I might opt for that. Just wondering.

Nope. You're completely overwriting the hard drive when you install 2.5Xtreme so you'd lose bash in the process and be unable to complete the installation. Just read through the installation instructions and take your time. It's a relatively painless process and only requires the bare basics of PC knowledge so even a novice can do it. If you know how to install and set up a hard drive in a PC you can upgrade a Tivo.

Thanks for the info, captain.
I've got a laptop, so I guess I should use a desktop to load 2.5Xtreme, correct? I can use my father's old desktop if necessary. I've used nothing but laptops for years due to my sales jobs.
My biggest worry is actually connecting the T60's drives--I've got one 100G and one 120G drive installed. The 120G was just added after the unit's original 40G just crapped out.
I read about primary master, slave, etc., and my eyes begin to bug out. But I AM reading (learning's so fun, ain't it?).
I've come across many how-to's on this, but do you have a personal recommendation as to which how-to is the best in terms of ease of understanding when it comes to installing 2.5Xtreme onto two drives?
Thanks for your help.
