sony t60, xtreme 2.5.2. Over the last day, my dtivo has rebooted every 20 to 25 minutes. It is not a heat issue, everytime I check it is 49-53c which is 'normal' for me. Any ideas on what the problem is ?

You can tell if it is heat related by removing the cover and running it open. 53 is getting up there. Worth a try. It might be "normal" for you at 53, but a component or drive might not be able to make the grade anymore, and is tired.
It could be drive related. Remove your drive and run the drive manufacturer's drive analysis utility on your PC.
It could be voltage related. Test your voltages with a meter with the unit on and drive(s) up and running, and with the sat cables connected to the LNB/multiswitch. A conveniant place is the second unused drive connector.
There are many many threads that discuss these scenarios here. Please do a search, and you will find info that will help you.

Check the small ribbon cable between the power supply board and mainboard. It's amazing how many problems are related to this one simple item. I've had reboot problems, dead DTivos, and stuck boot screens that were all related to this stinkin' little cable.
Open the cover and pull the hard drive rack out to access the cable. Remove the cable from each connector and swap it end for end. Reseat the cable in each connector, making sure it's fully inserted at each end. A pair of needle-nosed pliers is handy for this. Put it all back together and boot her up and cross your fingers. Sometimes the cable is really finnicky and may need to be reseated several times before it responds. If it doesn't work the first time, remove the cable and clean off the contacts with a clean pencil eraser and try it again.

I had a similar problem with my T-60, it would reboot without warning, increasing in frequency until it wouldn't even boot before it reset, I cloned the HD, still had the same problem with the new HD, purchasing and installing a new power supply fixed the problem.

similar problem....ran the western digital hd utility tools after pulling out the hd's, and it found errors on the master drive. the utility fixed the hd errors, i reset the white cables everyone talks about, reinstalled hd's in dtivo...and wal-ah! works perfect, and didnt lose any recordings and settings. ive read others w/same prob...seems to occur when the dtivo has been hit by power outages..helps this helps...
