Is there a DSR7000 backup image?

I've haven't been able to successfully create an image of my TiVo drive because it keeps seg faulting on mfsbackup and mfsrestore.

Is it ok to run drive diagnostics on the TiVi drive itself?

thanks.

just use an image for the hdvr2. they are the same internally, just a different case.

If only it were that simple! :)

I just ran into the same problem and tried the HDVR2 image. It will run and boot fine with the exception of a warning screen that pops up before tivo central "A serious hardware problem has been detected" then it goes on to tell you to reboot first and if that does not work call into support with error message #51. I am 99% sure its because somehow the mfs image is encoded for which receiver it belongs to.

Still looking for a DSR7000 image... :)

Like mrblack51 said, the HDVR2 image will work. Any time you restore a backup to a different machine you get an error 51. The software and harware serial numbers no longer match. Go into setupo and do a "Clear and Delete Everything". It will fix your problem.

If you search for "serious, hardware & problem" you should find many threads concerning this message.

look for alphawolf's 51killer.tcl script, which will take care of that error. clear and delete everything will work, but this newer way is faster.

An interesting follow-up to the HDVR2 image.

I used it and got the error 51 and preceded to C&DE it. However, once it was finished and running again, there were no backgrounds which from my readings indicates that it wasn't backed-up correctly. i.e. -f 4138 or -f 9999 was not used.

I went ahead and used the image from my drive, but i'm wondering if that image has been confirmed as good.
