I'm trying to upgrade my Series 2 with a 160gig Maxtor HD, but my Asus A7N8X only sees 33GB.

Is anyone using this mobo know of a way to have the board itself recognize large hard drives? Or is there a way to us MFS Tools with a controller card?

Any help would be appreciated.

Even if the BIOS doesn't see the entire drive, Linux may. Check and see after the mfstools disk boots what it reports the drive size as.

...but it didn't work.

Linux also saw 33GB. I tried disabling the Auto IDE detection to no avail.

Make sure their isn't a size limiting jumper installed on your drive.

the 33 GB sounds like you're possibly using Fat32 (has a format limit of 32GB) Might want to try NTFS or something else.
