Simple backups

I’m sure the answer to this question is here somewhere, buried in all the great information available on this site. I can’t seem to find it in simple terms.
I have all of the hacks in cobelli’s great guide working. What I want know is; If my goal is just to backup a few recorded shows to my desktop for storage, and to clean out my Now Showing list. What is the least I must do? When I open Mfs_ftp I see some folders that seem to contain files related to my recordings. What files do I need to transfer from which folders? To put them back on my tivo can I just drag them back to the folders that they came from? I’m not trying to play them on my computer or made a dvd I just want to back them up and restore them.

Yes. Just Drag & Drop the program's file. There is one file per recorded program. Use the .tmf version (in the tmf folder). It will restore all of the program's descriptions and such when you insert the show back into the TiVo. Thank Riley for mfs-ftp, he coded it.

do u have a HDVR2? if u do, i ran into a problem where i'm unable to insert shows more than 524mb in size back to hdvr2.
