Hi, can anyone tell me if the RCA Ultimate TV DWD490RE has the same problems working as the tivo only going to 26% because it can't get transponders 30 and 32?
Or do they still work?

Thanks

Hi, still wondering if you need transponder 32 for a UTV to work as my dsr6000 needs it in order to work.
It's been a long 4 months without a dtivo.

anyone?

I haven't had any problems like that with my UTVs.

Nope, in the arctic. Dtivo worked fine till July27 when they moved the sats around. (yeah, I tried all the unhook the sat lines thingy, it doesn't work for me)
Anything that uses the extended guide (ie Dtivo or 6th gen hughes) will not work here anymore.
So i'm really wondering if the 490 utv uses the extended guide or the regulular guide like the normal rca irds.

I believe UTV does use the extended program guide.

What is your signal strength on transponders 30 & 32?

What size dish do you have now?

Try going to a bar/restaurant/hotel or similar establishment where they probably have a commercial (2m. or greater) dish.

Talk to someone there who has control of the recieiver & have them let you see what signal they can get on the high even transponders. If they can get a reasonable signal strength, a larger dish may be a worthwhile investment for you.
