Blinking green light

I have a buddies utv receiver that has a continuous blinking green light when powered on. I tried to redo drive at either clean 3.5 os and clean 3.7 os, checked fuse and other naked eye possible problems and everything checks out. Has anyone found out what the cause of this could be? It won't allow me to get any on screen stuff cuz it continues to blink and screen is black throughout. Cannot put any remote codes in until blinking light stops. Any suggs guys and gals?

Only two possibilities:

1) Your drive is screwed. If you disconnect the IDE cable and get the WebTV screen, this is probably the issue.

2) Your hardware is screwed. Call the manufacturer to get it replaced.
