Well, first of all, most Bose sound systems don't have an IR remote, they use RF instead. So if you have one of those systems you won't be able to control it using the TiVo remote.
If you have a Bose system with an IR remote, then you're out of luck as well, since there is no code to control it. I tried to get it working with a Bose Wave Radio but the included code doesn't work.
I also have a Samsung HT which can't be controlled by the TiVo remote.
Does anyone know if the HDVR2 remote has codes to control more devices thatn the original peanut?

Hey thanks, next question. I have to keep my Bose system. Is there a way to hook the outputs of the TIVO to a PreAmp in and then the PreAmp out to the Bose system. RE: this way I can control the VOL. via the preamp. and if so what preamp will work with the TiVo Remotes.

Good question! But maybe another option would be to use a universal remote to control everything. I've read many opinions on some great remotes and how happy people are using them.
In my case a preamp would not work, since I use the digital audio, and it doesn't bother me too much to use another remote to control the audio.

You may have to look into a JP1 remote. That's the only way that I could get a universal remote working that would control my Aiwa system. The thing is.....nothing beats the penut remote for me. I still end up using Two remotes. Also, you may look into a cheap phillips remote that works well for a single Tivo. I don't know if you can make it work for your sterio, but I know it works pretty good for a single Tivo. I have Two Tivos and an IR extender, so I can't use it. If you want more info, I can find it out for you. This philips remote sells for around $20 or so.

There are possibilities. You may have to call Bose or do some investigating on your own but.....

Chances are the codes are correct but you need an IR 2 RF repeater.
Just a thought.
