Stand Alone series 1, lifetime sub, 80 gig drive, 3.0 and just installed turbonet card.

Plan on bringing to daughter this weekend (150 miles away). My question is since I know what cable system she will be using can I rerun guide setup here at my house today? This could save me time there waiting for the guide to download and index. Is this possible without having the cable hooked up?

yup, you can redo guided setup and choose whatever source you want. Tivo has no way of verifying that you have the right cable system connected...thats why having accurate guide data is so important with the standalone units, they just blindly record assuming the guide data is accurate.
