I just spent about 4 hours trying to port an application to my tivo. I have tried usr.local.tivo.tgz on a linux box and I could not figure it out. I have found a native tivo compiler native_compiler_tivo.tar.gz . I would like to install it on my partition 7. I have went ahead and deleted everything on it, but I cannot extract the archieve. The tar command doesn't exist on the tivo. Normally I can do a tar -xzvf and that takes care of it, but I have searched high and low for tar and can't seem to find it. I tried gzip but I run out of space on partition 4. I even tried gzip and piping the output to cpio but can't get that to work. How do I install the native compiler? Thanks in advance.
