This is a very odd thing that just started happening Tuesday night. I have been using this card in teh tivo for 1.5 weeks..I know its good , I just know ;) ANyway... I came home Tuesday to TiVo saying IVAC. I put my other same exact "Sub" card in and it worked fine..but in the morning it said IVAC again. I put tivo into a different surge protector connected to a different outlet thinking voltage may be the issue, but I came home tonight to find it again IVAC. I'm at a loss here and wondering what could be the issue. FYI I am at 3.1 OS. Anyone have any ideas as to what may be happening
We are not allowed to talk about hacking DTV here. That is your problem. Its your card.

You're not supposed to be able to move a card between two receivers. If you did that and it worked, you should file a bug report with DTV to let them know there is a hole in their system. While you're on the phone explain your IVAC problem and ask them if they can send you a new card since you think yours might be defective. As Will and bato mentioned in another thread, some of the older cards have been causing problems on PVRs lately, so getting it replaced would be a good first step in your troubleshooting efforts.

Be sure to give them a good b!tching at when you get on the phone with them too! You pay for a service that they are not providing. We recently had a problem like that here at the house and we were told that we would have to wait a week or two for a new card to be sent out. Obviously, that is TOTALLY unacceptable. Even after being told that was "the best they could do", we said it was not and got them to FedEx a new card out by overnight delivery!
DirecTV has done a lot of crap lately without any concern at all as to how it affects their legitimate customers. In fact, they never have really seemed to give a crap about their current customers as much as they do getting people to sign up. Anyway, don't just blindly accept their "that's all we can do" statement. You pay for that service and if you require a new card, they should overnight it as they did for us.
