Hello all,

I just acquired a Sony Sat T60 unit from Greek. The unit is hacked, with the original 40gb HD installed, as well as an additional 120GB drive. The unit has v2.5.2 Xtreme with Xplusz installed, but none of the software hacks activated yet.

So here's my dilema.....

I hooked the machine up last night, and powered it up for the 1st time. It powered up just fine, going through the initial startup screens... then into the guided setup.

I let it walk me all the way through the guided setup, where I chose the dish type, lnb inputs, etc.. It then gets to the final setup screen where I believe the machine attempts to dial out to Tivo --- and gets stuck at 28%. I realize this is normal, and the solution supposedly that you unplug the machine at that very point, wait 30 seconds, and plug back in.

However, when I do this and the machine boots back up again, I'm getting the guided setup all over.

I sent Greek an email telling him about my dilema, and he gave me a solution --- he said to power the machine up with NO satellite feeds hooked up. Go through the guided setup, and eventually it will fail telling you there's no sat input. At which point you're presented with 3 choices, the last of the three is "fix later" or something to that effect.

He told me to get to that screen, but right before choosing option #3, plug the sat feed back in... then choose that option. And low and behold, I got past my first problem... and now I have a functional machine where I'm at least able to get the DirecTV program guide, and view channels.

This however brings up another problem... if I attempt to go into the Tivo Central screen, I'm immediately getting the dialout dialogue where it wants to dial out. Again, according to Greek he said to follow the on screen instructions, and let it attempt to dial out one time and fail. At which point, it will present you with an option to change your dialing preferences --- where you can go in and enter you xplusz hacks --- which I exactly did.

But for some reason, the lifetime/nophone hack doesn't seem to be sticking. I'm entering it exactly as it should be entered -- #21,1 in the "Set call waiting prefix" screen. Then saving what I entered, and exiting out of the phone options. Still not showing a lifetime sub, and Tivo options still aren't available to me.

According to Greek, I would probably have to reboot my machine at that point to make the lifetime hack stick. So, I did exactly that... then when the machine powers up, I'm getting my little colored ball progress bar... which does go to 100% without a problem. And I'm back viewing channels again, but when I try to get to Tivo Central, I'm getting the dialout screen again.

So basically right now I'm stuck... I have a functional DTV receiver where I can watch TV, view the guide, change channels, etc... but I can't activate my xplusz Tivo hacks, and therefore have no Tivo functionality for some reason.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

The "28%" issues is detailed here, with the 180 odd replies: 28% Thread (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?threadid=125181).

Don't know about your xplusz, but it does take a few minutes for xplusz to run and become active. Reboot your unit and wait 5 minutes or so, before you try any commands. Also waiting with the unit in standby/off seems to help it run through startup scripts quicker.

When you get to the screen that forces the guided setup, get through the steps for dialing to tivo and attempt a call with the line unplugged. After it fails go to change dialing options and go to xplusz/cnage dialing prefix screen. Pop in the code, and dont hit select. Go left once, and wait. Should go after 5 seconds. If not do again and go right, left, left, quickly. For some reason xplusz runs that way, without pressing select. If your into the guided setup you dont get the option to select once and then confirm. I sent you an emai with the info too, dont know if you checked that already. Im away (family emergency) with a laptop and TERRIBLE cell modem, I cant barely connect, only sporatically. Just call me if your stuck, and that 28% thing happens to everybody, depending on your signal on xponders #30 and #32 at the time of the reboot. There are posts here,(above) and tons at www.tivocommunity.com about it.......
