Bash to extraction software updates

I’ve been working on the bash to extraction how to and have a question regarding recordings and software upgrades. Let’s say that I get everything up and running. I record 100 hours of programs and then a software update hits, do I lose all my programs?

I don’t mind doing the work as long as I’m sure the recordings won’t be corrupted when I do receive an update.

That depends on what software and hacks you had installed prior to the update. You need to specify these things as well as what kind of Tivo you have.
