Is their any way to install tubronet drivers and s/w without removing the harddrives?( boot from pc through serial port)

The driver file is very small, you can easily send it to the Tivo over a serial telnet connection, then add the commands to load it by editing the init file.

I am new to linux what typr of command do i add to the init.

Well perhaps we need to backup a bit. Depending on what version of Tivo you have, the process may vary. For a series 1 DirectTivo (like a DSR6000), you need to add the two lines below to rc.sysinit. But if you are that uncomfortable around linux, this is probably not the best way to go. If you mess up the file, your Tivo will no longer boot up.
insmod -f /lib/modules/ax88796.o macaddr=012345 timing=5
ifconfig eth0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask 255.255.255.0 up
This also will not work if the Tivo is so far unhacked.

I reccomend loading XplusZ 3.1.0 i believe it has everything you need and even configures it for you
