I recently went to upgrade my Sony svr 2000 to a 120GB HD. Because I have no real computer savy I ordered one preconfigured to replace old one. I replaced and it works great but when I try to dial through new turbonet card that I installed at same time nothing happens. I did hardwire it to my netgear wireless router which lights up when I connect turbonet patch cord to it. Ive entered the .#401 in prefix but get message connection failed. What if anything can I do without having to open up my computer. Thanks for any help Trista

You need a modem to connect to Tivo HQ. The Tivo does not know how to connect via the internet and still requires a phone connection to dial out. The Turbonet will allow communication between your PC and your Tivo but not between your Tivo and Tivo HQ.

Huh?? I thought a stand alone can "dial" over the internet exactly like a DTivo.

I was told by someone in this forum before I bought the turbonet card that you could dial through the turbonet card using ,#401 to access and download updated information via the web thus bypassing my failed modem. Was that not correct information- Im very confused and please no blonde jokes. Thanks Trista
