When I try to restore using mfsrestore I get the following error:
Restore failed: Internal error 4.

I can successfully restore my orginal backup but that is all.

I setup a compute following the instruction from HDVR2/DSR7000 How-to: BASH to EXTRATION

Everything seemed to be going fine until but follow step 15 Tivo will not boot.

So I figured I just try a pre hacked image, but after I download and copy to CD, I get the restore error?

Does anyone know what Restore failed: Internal error 4 means?

I used the command line:

mfsrestore -zpi /cdrom/u5-151-hacked.mfs /dev/hdc

I'm using the original 40G drive.

I've never tried using the pre-hacked image but there are reports of many people having exactly the same problem you are. I'd recommend forgetting about using the hacked image and start from scratch using cobelli's guide. Read through it carefully several times until you fully understand what you're trying to accomplish. You don't have to know much Linux and the basic commands are easy to master. The key is to be very, very careful when typing in the commands during the hacking process. One typo and you're screwed so double-check your typing before you hit the Enter key. There are a couple of errors in the guide so look at the hackinit examples by mrblack51 in the guide for the correct PATH statement to be used. Also, the port used by mfs_ftp is 3105 and not 3501 or whatever is listed in the guide.
