New to all this TiVo Hacking stuff! Only been doing it for a couple week and have had no problems untill now. I am trying to use tytool 7r10. I put tserver_mfs7 and NowShowing.tcl on my Tivo and got all that working. When I run the Tytool client I get a

ERROR: Failed to connect!

I can telnet ftp and use TiVoWeb into my TiVo fine. I had it working fine but it was slow in transfering the shows to my computer because I was using a wireless connection, so I stopped it and hooked my computer up to my wired LAN. Had some IP probs. on my computer but fixed them. When I tried to run tytool again I get that error. Tried other versions, but same problem.
Probably just messed something up. So stupid!!
Searched through other threads but found no answers that fit.
*Using Windows XP Pro
*Tivo: Sony SAT-T60 (ver. 3.1.0) , w TurboNET Card

Please Help!!!!

tserver_mfs7 *must* be running on your TiVo, before TyTool can connect and get anything from it. You have two choices:

1. start tserver_mfs7 from rc.sysinit.author and direct all output to a log file or /dev/null . this means it's always running and available.

2. telnet into your TiVo, and manually start tserver_mfs7 from the command line for the duration of your TyTool work. Control-C it to exit whenever you're done, and exit the telnet session. this way, it only runs when you explicitly need it.

Hope this helps...

thanks for your reply! I did have tytool_mfs7 running. I left my TiVo off last night and when I turned it on this morning and ran tytool it worked. It must have been having a bad day!

thanks again!!
