recording quality

Stand alone tivo has the ability to set recording for best, high,medium,and basic quailtiy. Basic quality taking up less space so you can record more programs. Tivo claims all tivo recievers have this ability, does not seem possible, does anyone know how? any other ideas so i can fit more programs? Thanks!:confused:

Dtivos do not have this setting. The antenna data is stored on the drive. there is no loss in quality between the playback and the original source.
