ok, here's a candidate stock mips binary built from the source on alt.org; anyone care to try it?

edit: sorry, the file is actually a .gz, but the forum doesn't allow that suffix. just save it to disk, rename it to .gz, and use gzip.

Looks great. I installed this, and have tmf files streaming between two S2 tivos (hdvr2, and a SA).

You might want to change the file extension to gz or gzip so that gzip will uncompress it.

Thanks.

durned forum won't allow .gz suffix, that's why i have to do .zip.

glad it worked! i may have to try it out now :)

After a bit of testing it worked great copying a file from my hdvr2 to a S2 stand alone. All copying and inserting done at about 500k/s. However, for some weird reason when going the other way (stand alone to hdvr2), the hdvr2 copies fast, but does the inserting at 26k/s, so it took nearly forever.

Anyone have any suggestions? Both tivo's are working on the same set of files.

Thanks

I'm getting a 'cannot open, does not appear to be a valid archive' error with winzip and I have downloaded it twice. I have no idea how others can get it opened and I can't.

Any ideas? Can you rezip it or email it to me?

[EDIT] DAM*. what an ***** I am, ...and I tell everyone else to 'read' :)

What kind of board censors the word id0t?

if you read my post (above), I mention that it is actually a gzip, but the filename is misleading. So just copy it onto your tivo (or linux box), and run gzip -d filename and you'll have the binary.
