Board,

This is probably a stupid little thing I'm forgetting, but here it goes anyways.

I havn't done extraction for a long time. Now my girlfriend wants me to extract some damned music bands tv appearance cause she won't frickin sit down at the TV to watch it. Anyways....

I got into Telnet, everything looked fine, uploaded the new tserver_mfs7 and the NowShowing.tcl to /var/hack chmodded them both and did the command, ./tserver_mfs7 A second later the screen showed the waiting for connection. I opened up Tivo Client, and hit refresh. Telnet said we got a message, now showing came up, selected video, changed local path, and clicked get button.

Nothing. Telnet said something about sending, and it died. I thought, waht the hell?.... looked at telnet. Telnet was not responsive. Opened another telnet session, couldn't find host. Pinged my Tivo.... no response. FTP'ed it... no response. MyWorld front end still works fine, and everything else works, but no networking. Go through the MyWorld, and restart the system. Same thing. It got a lease, but still no response on anything. I started getting really concerned...... Didn't want to have to pull out the HD. I pulled the power for 20 seconds, replugged it in, and it finally started responding. Retryed to extract video.... nothing. Exact same things happened. I have tried a older version, tserver_mfs6 and tserver_mfs7, same things happen.

I have a Series 1 Tivo.... TivoWeb is not running, and I have tried to extract with both TivoFTPd running, and not running, same results.

When I first got into extraction, nothing was mentioned about some sort of module of descramble.o or something.... is that the problem, or am I way off base and that's for the new DTivo's?

UK Tivo 2.5.5, original HDDs, AirNet only mod.

I have virtually the same problem. I am sure that the problem I have is on the Tivo side.

Basically it happens whenever I try to get a stream from the Tivo. Do anything else and networking works fine. Once its happened, I need to do a System Reset from the UI.

I posted a reply earlier describing my problem here -

Phillips,

I swithced to TyStudio, and it works like a charm now.

Also, when I had the probelms, I was on a laptop, with a 10 mbp lan card. After I moved to my desktop, 100 mbp, it worked.

Both things, upgrading speed, and changing to TyStudio were the only things that could be done in my situation. I tried tserver_mfs7 again, with a faster connection and it still bombed.

My solution, was to upgrade to a faster connection, and switch to TyStudio.

Let me know if this helps you out.
