I have a silver hughes gxcebot in my livingroom, and just bought a black philips dsr6000 for my bedroom. My hughes has 160gb HD and several season passes, recorded shows, etc...

I'd like to have the black dsr6000 in my living room, since it matches the rest of my A/V component's in my cabinet- but I read that to switch the HD's from one Dtivo to another requires a clear and delete data & todo lists, which will wipe out the stuff I obviously want to keep. Is there an easier way to accomplish this? or would it be easier just to swap the gut's from one box to the other? (since they are the same inside?)

Thanks.

Search keywords: 51killer noscramble

Basically if you installed noscramble before you made your recordings you'll be fine. If not, you screwed up and you'll have to swap the boards.

Why not simply swap the front panels and top covers? The interfaces between the front panels and the MB are identical on both units. That way you won't have to worry about doing anything to the hard drives or the DTivo software. It's not any more involved than swapping the hard drives with far less hassle.

Its always the little idea's that make it big! Thanks Captain! Thats exactly what I did, took me about 2 minutes! :D

I had no idea how easy that would have been... If I knew, I might have been looking for a new front facplate for my silver hughes all this time!
