Video Noise

Hi,

This is my first attempt at extracting video. I am using the noscramble.o file on a DirecTivo series 1 from Hughes.

I don't know if its the actual show, as I only tried one. At the very top of the video its has a black line and then about 10 rows of distorted pixels. Other than that, it looks perfect. I tried extracting the program in many different formats, they all did the same thing. Every player I used produced the same results. Windows Media Player, Winamp, Premiere, IFO editor, PowerDVD.

Anyone else encounter this??

Do a little looking around in the forum and you'll find that this is the data stream that is broadcast along with the video signal. Most TVs do not show it due to overscan. The data stream is used to transmit (among other possiblities) closed captions.
