Ok, I ran the mfsrestore and restored the u5 hacked image onto a 120 gig drive... I ran the other commands it said to perform and I have everything copied over (dssapp, fixsub.tcl, etc) plus I have hackinit edited the way I want...

Now my question is: I want to copy this image over to another HDVR2 system with a 120 gig drive... Do I just use:

mfsbackup -f 4138 -6so /mnt/c/hackedtivo.bak /dev/hdc

to backup the drive and restore it on another drive? Will everything work if I plug the new drive into the new tivo? Or will I have to perform more commands like:

genromfs -f /romfs.img -d img/

dd if=/romfs.img of=/dev/hdc14 bs=1024 count=1

etc...

No answer? Or is this a stupid question?

If you want to clone your hacked drive to another drive then use the dd command to do a disk-to-disk copy. I believe this will copy over all of the partitions to the new drive. Making a backup image and restoring it to a new drive won't retain all of the hacks installed in the opposite partitions (i.e. partitions 2 & 3 vs. 6 & 7). You'll have to hack the new drive from scratch to restore the hacks.
