I have a Phillips DSR6000R01 DTivo. I placed the Quantum 40gig HD in my pc as a secondary master and booted into Surgeons DSR6000 2.5 Xtreme. I had downloaded this as an iso and burned it as an image file with Nero. I burned at 4x to reduce chances of write errors. Anyway, the boot and load seemed to be going ok, till the end when I got the following message:

"Uncompressed backup size: 1365 megabytes
Restore failed: Decompression error .0.00%) (1325.87%
compression )
Cannot continue -- processing aborted."

I treid this 3 times with the same result. I then placed the drive back in the tivo and booted just to see what would happen. It said it was installing the new software and updates. It rebooted once or twice and then aquired sat sig.I still have the place call nag, with no record abilities other than live tv pause. I'm not sure if the upgrade took place. This was my first tivo experiance.

Any ideas? Is DSR6000 2.5 Xtreme the right version for my DSR6000R01?

I got the xtreme iso from tivostuff.com. Anyone else know of another file I can find? I did have a hard time finding other 2.5xtreme sources.

Any input appriciated.

Thanks.

You've got the correct image for your DTivo. What you want to do now is install Superzap's 2.5.2 upgrade. I wouldn't bother with going to 3.1 unless you really want to. Check out my tutorial (http://dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=112382&highlight=Heres+a+detailed+tutorial#post112382) for installing 2.5Xtreme and upgrading to 2.5.2. Since you've already allowed your DTivo to acquire the guide data with version 2.5 you'll need to do a Clear Program Data & To Do List. It would probably be faster just to start from scratch per the guide since the clear function takes about an hour.
