Echo Command...... question

Ok I know I may be looking for trouble asking this but here it goes....

I know the Echo command is to "Echo" the words to the screen, but where?? On my TV screen when the Tivo hits that line in the hackinit? or in my telnet screen?? I never see the words. Where are they supposed to be displayed.
