View Full Version : DSR6000 and 16x9
I just setup my DSR6000 and when I was going through the setup screens I saw an option to set the video to 16x9. When I set it to that resolution I didn't see a difference in the video. What does this do?

It has nothing to do with your resolution. If you have a widescreen TV then you need to set it to 16X9 or the output from the Tivo won't be displayed properly.
OK, but if I put both (Projector and TiVo) to 16x9, the picture is stretched. The image looks the same regardless of whether the TiVo is set to 4x3 or 16x9.

What is the aspect ratio of your RPTV? If it's a normal 4:3 ratio then you need to set both the Tivo and the TV to 4:3. If it's a widescreen display then set both to 16:9. If you select 16:9 and both the image and the screen are 4:3 then the image will get stretched as you described.

No, the projector is Native 16x9, so if I select 16x9 on both, the image is stretched horizontaly. If I leave the TiVo at 16x9, but put the projector on 4x3, the image is fine, so it appears that selecting 16x9 on the TiVo doesn't make a difference.
Can anyone help me? What does the 16x9 option, on the TiVo, do?
