Which locals process should I use?

I have been searching through previous posts trying to find the instructions for adding locals and am having a little difficulty making sense of things.

A little background:

I have an HDVR2 that I just purchased a few weeks ago. I went straight to the 3.1 image posted on the twinbrothers site rather than going to 2.5 then upgrading.

I successfully got my network up and running and am excited to say I got the extraction process running too.

My main goal is to get the FOXW locals because they broadcast a different series of Simpsons episodes than the rest of the Foxes, or at least the one in my area.

In addition, they come on a couple of hours earlier allowing me to get 4 episodes per day.

I am trying to archive all Simpsons and Seinfeld on DVD.

Which process should I apply if I want to get the locals? Most of them reference xplus, 2.5extreme, etc. I am not extremely familiar with these since I went straight to 3.1.

From my reading it looks like you can avoid having to wait hours for the guide data to populate by using some xplus commands in the call waiting screen. How do I determine if my 3.1 version contains those commands?

I have also read horror stories of people losing their locals all together. If there is a good chance of that happening, I would rather just avoid doing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no problem searching, but I want a base of knowledge so I don't go off more half cocked than I already have.

None of the programs or upgrades you mentioned will work with an HDVR2. You must be talking about the 3.1.0 S2 image and not the 3.1 image for S1 DTivos. The other images are all for series 1 DTivos only. There is no way to get locals outside your area with a legitimate subscription. You can only get the west coast feeds if you have a waiver from your local network affiliates. They don't usually grant them if you're within antenna range of their signal.

Thanks Captain. I saw mention of the national feeds from NY and LA and thought those might apply to this patch. No wonder I never saw anyone mention S2 and locals together.

Ok im in az and i have 2.5.2 with zplus on a series 1 should i be able to get all the national feeds like LA/NY and if so what are the codes for them that i put in the #60,xx,xx,xx?
