Disregard. As expected it was something stupid. I don't know why I couldn't manually get this going but when writing this I noted on the silicondust site that my card is actually a "Turbonet" card not a "Tivonet". I reran nic_install turbonet and it worked fine.

I have a Sony SAT-T60. It was running great until 3.1.0b. I did my homework, removed the drive, reapplied my changes and brought the machine back up. The changes took (clearly noscramble works) however my networks not working. It was working immediately after the "upgrade" although via DHCP. I could ping the box although I couldn't Telnet. I had previously run a static address so I ran nic_install tivonet (I downloaded and burned the latest CD from: http://www.silicondust.com). All appeared normal. When the TiVo powers on the network light on the hub lights up, however I can't ping the device. I went back to my "original" rc.sysinit file but no fix. I tried both the rc.net on the new partition and the rc.net from the old (previously running). I'm a bit stumped here. Everything is working great but I can't ping or telnet into the box, although I should be able to. Also, when I set it (via nic_install) to DHCP it is not requesting an address from the server.
I tried to use the serial port to get in and maybe run an ifconfig but I haven't used it in a long time and it's not working. My laptop is WinXP and I'm using Hyperterminal, Com1, 96N81. When the machine boots I get "bash: no control in this shell" and then on the next line "bash-2.02#".
Any suggestions? Could someone send me their rc.net for a Sony SAT T60 that's working on 3.1.0b. Thanks for any help or suggestoins.:) :)
