I have made the serial cable like it is said and my multimeter says that there is continuity thru the connectors and the right positions on the 1/8 jack....now pulg this into the serial connection on my dtivo. run teraterm and press enter and I get this for a prompt ">" is this correct? the how to I'm going by says it should be bash-2.02# ?
I have just installed 25xtreme to a new 120gb HD and Dtivo is working fine watchin tv....but need to activate dtivo functions....anyone have any clues as to what I'm doin' wrong. this is my first attempt to hack a tivo box.

Dont bother with 2.5, go right to 2.5.2, you'll be MUCH happier. tivostuff.com, no bash needed, and lots of hacks. Do a clear and delete everything after installing to get your locals back......
