Has anyone got this iso file to download correctly? I've tried 3 times but keep getting "this is not a valid image file". Maybe it's corrupted at the site. Does anyone have an alternate site that I can try downloading from. I couldn't get into the high speed site he refers to. Sounds like just the program I need but can't get my hands on it. Any help would be appreciated!

It's hard to believe no one has tried downloading this yet!

Has anyone been successful from either site snoopy offers? I've had a couple people try to access his secondary site following his instructions (after I fail for 4 hours) but nobody can ge to the file. Any help would be appreciated.

Why not ask Snoopy himself?

BubbleLamp,
I did ask him. Said he's had problems with the slower site and I should try the ftp site (which I did many times). I just can't seem to navigate to /pvr/home/snoopy . I was hoping SOMEONE would reply that has actually downloaded a working image. I have downloaded several times from the slow sight but all give the same message "this is not a valid image file".

It works, you might try to not go to the directory he specified in the txt file. I would just try the root directory and then navigate to the correct dir as I believe it has changed since the readme.

djohn,

Thank you for the response! Could you breifly explain how I can start at a "root" directory. Do you mean I should start at wizardemail.com? Then add /pvr/home/snoopy? I tried that but got nowhere. Please shed some light!
Thanks.

I am guessing you are using IE to try to navigate to the server. If you used an FTP client it would be easier for you as IE breaks the username up since it has the ampersand.

Anyhow, as easy of instructions as I can help you out with are as follows.

Paste ftp://ftp.wizardemail.com/snoopy/ into your browser.
Login with the login and password that Snoopy has provided on his server.
Download file from server.

Easy enough? I hope so, if not then use an FTP client or something...if you can't figure that out then please don't try to hack your tivo.

Check the transfer mode...
Make sure you are transfering while in BINARY, not ASCII
Though the DOS FTP, this is simply set by typing BINARY before issuing the GET.

Got it...finally!
Thank you for all the helpful hints. I never suspected this could be so complicated. The browser type, the settings, and the OS all have an affect on the procedure.
