Ok don't beat me up to bad, I'm still a newbie.
I have HMO on my TiVo2 that you can stream video to another TiVo with HMO. Is it posible to run some software on a PC to get the stream off a TiVo running HMO?
I don't want to install any software on the TiVo like TyServer.
Any Help would be great. Thx,

Possible? More than likely. Can we do it right now? No, because our current methods work just fine, so nobody has had any incentive to try that.

I think you would need to install at least one piece and that's noscramble.
Otherwise you wouldn't be able to do anything with that stream you extracted.

Well...not necessarily. The key problem we currently have with encrypted tystreams is that the private keys in the asic are inaccessible (although we could log the kernel and in turn make it decrypt the streams, we simply haven't done it yet.) However, there would be no private key process involved with tivos HMO, since if the keys couldn't be shared between the two tivos, it would be impossible for the other tivo to decrypt the stream.
But there is one other problem: the mediaswitch asic. Because it would be very difficult and expensive to reverse engineer the asic, at least one tivo will need to be hacked to decrypt the stream, no matter how you look at it. So, if your goal is to be able to use HMO as a means of being able to extract without having to hack a tivo, you are out of luck.
