i am running 2.5 extreme and lost my locals i just wanted to know if i could use tera term on windows 98 with the serial and put th midupdate on the hughes directivo and if i can what directory should i put it in?

i have a dir /var but no........ /var/hack

i put the midupdate in the /var

then i typed at the bash

cd /var/ chmod +x midupdate.tcl ./midupdate.tcl 124

am i done? is this right?

the directions i got were from here but i dont have rmrw

Remember i am new and i did not put the 2.5extreme.........i bought the tivo with the hack and a serial cable for future updating

any help is appreciated

follow the stickys and upgrade to 2.5.2, you will have nothing but problems with 2.5 and locals. ITs very easy and has xplusz, allt he hacks by remote commands, no serial cable needed, its the way to go..........

Locals are no longer available with OS version 2.5. You MUST upgrade to at least OS version 2.5.2 to get locals.
