This Is My Last Ditch Effort(Question ) Before I Give Up On My DSR6K, I bought this unit ,it was already extremed when i bought it. It went into a boot up loop wher it would get to the almost there screen and then reboot and continue this endless cycle., i went back in the threads for weeks now trying to trouble shoot this problem to no avail........The Unit worked fine for several months after i bought it.....i tryed re imaging the hard drive, now it goes from welcome powering up to ..almost there.. to installing new software from the tivo server an then back to the welcome powering up screen again..just a little longer loop.............Soooooo i bought another drive (a maxtor 40g) imaged the drive with 25xtreme and the new drive spins, grinds a little ...but never makes it past the welcome powering up screen.....if i put the old drive back in it goes back to its same loopi described earlier.............i have ruled out the paralax cable due to the fact ive made a split second of progress on the original drive...but for the life of me cant figure out why i cant at least get them both to the same point at least being im installing the same image on both.........any thoughts on what the problem could be wouls be very welcome/appreciated....thanks

A common question with a myriad of possibilities. Get (buy) or make yourself a serial cable and you'll get to see all the bootup info that can help us figure out the problem. More reasons why to get one here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=119260&highlight=gender+and+bender#post119260).

Also, I provided links to the cable, connectors, settings, etc as well as pics here (http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=118185#post118185). Get back with us.
