Scramble Question

Switching an existing scrambled system over to unscrambled seems to be a major undertaking, if it's full of shows.

Is there anything that can be done with scrambled streams OTHER than re-inserting to the tivo they came from? The mfs_ftp thread seems to indicate "yes", but I'm having trouble finding any other info.

I've run searches, but with all the changes that seem to be happening, it's hard to tell what info is current.
