series 2 tivos need a network card?

i just orderd my phillips series 2 from orbitsat and was wondering if there is a usb port that i could plug a wireless station into and communicate with my wireless router, or do i need a phone line by me tv. thanks.

short answer: you need a phone line

long answer: you need a phone line for doing ppv stuff and sports packages on dtv. you can add wireless or wired ethernet via usb, but it is non-trivial, and you will void your warantee. with ethernet in one way or another, you can make the tivo do its daily call via your broadband internet connection, but you will not be able to purchase ppv stuff if you have no phone line plugged in at all.
