i am having trouble getting a bash prompt on my new t60. i haven't done this for a while and am a little rusty. anyway, i was hoping to get the lifetime without having to use the bash. captian video, i saw a post where you said you do this all the time. if you could pm the steps i'd really appreciate it.
anyway, i can't get a bash prompt, i'm thinking it must be my cable, but this cable worked for me before in the past.
so i restore a good image and put the HD back in the tivo, it downloads the new software and updates the database, no bash. so i take it out and put it back in the pc to upgrade to 2.5.2 but the iso that i burn doesn't have the upgrd252 directory on it. i've burned the image 3 times using nero and blindwrite also straight with windows. everytime, the disk doesn't have the upgrd252 directory or anything in the iso image??? what the hell is going on.
everytime, it looks like the standard disk with
bin, boot, cdrom, dev, etc, floppy, lib, linuxrc, mad, mad31, mad32, maddtb4, mfstools-1.0, mnt, proc, root, sbin, tag, tivonet, tmp, usr, var, zaptivo.
no upgrd252 or upgrd31 or anything that is on the xupgrade iso??? how could this be happening???? please help before i just smash all this stuff and go back to normal dtv.
i'm not a newb either, i wrote a little how to for the t60 a year ago and can't believe i can't get a bash prompt now and can't even get an iso to burn correctly. yes i burned an iso and not a data disk.
